CT legislature usurps Constitution

The CT legislature voted today to usurp the US constitution and agreed to the National Popular Vote Compact.

The National Popular Vote (NPV) compact is the agreement of states to give their electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote. This may sound good as a media bite, but the compact disenfranchises voters of less populous states and throws the election to states with the largest populations.  It also changes the electoral designation of a state. For example, if a libertarian candidate wins CT but a Democrat wins the NPV, the compact states that all of CTs electoral votes go to the democrat. This is a backdoor around the constitution, and every legislator should be ashamed. The CT Libertarian Party stands against this unconstitutional law and supports all efforts to honor our presidential elections as our forefathers had intended.
