Richard Lion is the Libertarian Party of Connecticut's 2018 nominee for United States Senate.
Richard served four years in the Air Force and ten in the Connecticut Air National Guard. As former Chair of the Libertarian Party, and a tireless advocate for liberty, he says, "Unalienable rights do not come from government. Unalienable rights are endowed by our Creator... everybody on the entire planet has the exact same unalienable rights. Among these, including but not limited, are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. Governments are instituted to secure these rights. Our government, like others, often becomes destructive to these ends. I will ensure our Government functions to secure, not oppress, our unalienable rights."
