What We Believe
The Libertarian Party of Connecticut believes that a freer, more accountable society delivers better outcomes for everyone.
We believe individuals—not politicians or special interests—are best equipped to make decisions about their own lives, families, and communities. When government is limited, transparent, and focused on its proper role, people thrive.
In practice, that means clear, principled policies:
• A free and competitive economy that lowers the cost of living, encourages innovation, and allows workers and small businesses to succeed without excessive taxes, fees, or red tape.
• Strong civil liberties and personal freedom, including free speech, due process, privacy, and bodily autonomy—rights that apply to everyone, regardless of politics or identity.
• Accountable and restrained government that is fiscally responsible, respects constitutional limits, and serves the public rather than entrenched insiders.
• A peaceful, non-interventionist foreign policy that prioritizes diplomacy, trade, and national defense without endless wars or unchecked executive power.
Connecticut deserves policies rooted in freedom, responsibility, and common sense—not partisan theater. We offer a practical alternative that protects individual rights, strengthens communities, and restores trust in public institutions.
If these principles resonate with you, we invite you to get involved and help build a freer, more affordable, and more accountable Connecticut.
